Pattern Design + Construction :
This cute Crochet Cow Cuddler set was a fun and challenging design I created for a friend’s upcoming baby. Its small size makes it an ideal gift for babies or toddlers, but you can easily make it larger with a bigger crochet hook and thicker yarn. These crochet cows are quick, easy, and a charming addition to any farm-themed nursery.
Each finished cow measures about 7 inches tall and 4-5 inches wide. The set includes front and back panels, snout, ears, horns or flowers, arms, legs, and spots. These parts are crocheted individually and assembled with a tapestry needle. Safety eyes are added, and the cow is lightly stuffed before joining the panels with a round of single crochet. Though there are several pieces to put together, the pattern uses basic stitches, making it suitable for beginner to intermediate crocheters.
Yarn :
We’ll use medium Worsted Weight (4) yarn for these crochet cow cuddler patterns. This yarn is my top choice for crochet rag dolls due to its affordability, versatility, and durability. It’s soft and cozy, making it ideal for stuffed animals or loveys. You can substitute brands of worsted weight yarn as long as the ounce-to-gram ratio is similar. My favorite acrylic worsted weight brands include Red Heart Super Saver, I Love This Yarn, Yarn Bee, and Lion Brand.
For this tutorial, I used the following yarn colors:
- Red Heart Super Saver, Medium 4, 7 oz / 198 g, in the color White
- Red Heart Super Saver, Medium 4, 7 oz / 198 g, in the color Café Latte
- Red Heart Super Saver, Medium 4, 7 oz / 198 g, in the color Black
